Delightful, inspiring approach to helping yourself to health

If you don't understand this statement from Forbidden Healing, in the context of "Current farming practices and industrial style food packaging have robbed our foods of the nutrients we need for health, and thus are the main cause of disease in America." then, if you care about longevity as well as not being sick, you need to read this book. If you do understand it, but want a new perspective on how to power yourself to vibrant health, you might check out its introduction of the concept of "oxidative stress", and how one may avoid this stress via diet, supplements and attitude.
But its not just a very informative book about health and how to restore it to yourself and your family. Many of the "health" books of this type end up being dry, or have too much of a "formula" to follow so that they guarantee you will lose because you will lose interest.
If you don't just want "take your medicine" or "take your vitamins", but actually want something more like "nutrition, dancing on your counter", or "entertainment while you learn about health", then Forbidden Healing might be your means to an education on health - both physical and mental, and how to bring it to yourself, with simple choices every day of your life.

It's the story of one who started out with the best of foods, the best of health, and had to realize after a number of years that the whole country had been robbed of the natural bounty of farm-fresh nutrition and had begun to receive a poor, non-nutritive substitute in our "food supply", thanks to the industrialization of our food system, all the way from soil preparation (or lack thereof) to a concentration on "shelf-life" over nutrient-content.
Further, the book instills a philosophy and zeal in the reader, rubbed off from the author's vibrant good will and enthusiasm, so that you will, after reading just a few chapters, feel definitely that you CAN change your life and be much more of a positive influence on the world as a result of reading Forbidden Healing. I recommend this book. You will finish it inspired and enthused!

READ THIS BOOK IF YOU'RE SICK & TIRED OF BEING SICK

This book is great and it's as simple as he says---oxygen/antioxidant balance.I'm an acute dialysis RN,and I understand the acid/base balance,ph,etc..involved in our "inner ocean" as he refers to it.Which is a perfect description.But this book opened my eyes even more.He explains it very simply.And he's funny!It will open your eyes,too.We all must think for ourselves,instead of blindly following the "plan of care"that our md's MUST follow--{and he speaks of this}or they will not be reimbursed for services rendered.Or possibly risk their license they worked so hard for.And that plan of care is all centered around pharmaceuticals--throw another pill @ it.I see alot.Enough over the years in my career,to know I want something different for my family and anyone I care about.I'm learning alot from this book,as I'm still in process of reading.The vita c megadosing makes such much sense.It's simple and omg--cheap!{for now anyway..} There's other ways of caring for ourselves.And HEALING ourselves!But it's up to us to search it out,do alot of reading & make some changes.Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge Capt Randall!

Just for now, put aside what you thought you knew about health and healing. Forget for the time being the "truth" you've been taught about drugs, vitamins, genes, germs, the sun, the soil; in your forgetting, include all your previous certainties about diet, stress and attitude. Capt. Randall is about to take you on a long, strange, counterintuitive voyage through your "inner ocean," a voyage of discovery. Your final destination: a pirate's buried treasure, the tools of health that have been deliberately withheld for generations...forbidden healing.
The journey is comprehensive, winding and unwinding, unwrapping and re-wrapping the atoms, electrons, molecules, the sounds and frequencies that constitute the material world of which we are so intimate a part, that "most amazing alchemy." In science-based principles that are nonetheless easily understandable, the author blows away the fog of corporate-based propaganda about symptoms, causes, treatments. His own journey to healing, based on experience and validated by chemistry, is peppered with humor and spiced with whimsy. It's not an effortless read, it will require your participation, but Capt. Randall is a gentle teacher whose insights will remain long after the book is closed. There is a contagion in his positive attitude.
Forbidden Healing is in no way a cookbook of medical formulas nor it is a collection of advice nuggets. It is unlike any "health" book you have ever read. Capt. Randall is a true iconoclast, a smasher of outdated images anchored by time. You will end your journey with a revised, clarified vision of what it means to be wholly healthy in a polluted world. The appendices are invaluable additions that you will want to pursue. This is a book you'll return to again and again. It may well change your life.
