The Dr.'s Scientific Approach to "Standing Like a Tree".

Anyone who is familiar with Master Lam Kam Chuen's The Way of Energy, or his youtube videos on the subject of zhan zhuang will have noticed Dr. Yu Yongnian being interviewed and his studies regarding zhan zhuang quoted. This book is written by Dr. Yu and provides an in depth study on this form. There is a lot more involved in this than just standing still and the Dr. gives more than just an overview. He discusses the results of his research into the effects, health benefits, the different positions, relationships between various motions of the body and intensity of movements. There are chapters regarding theory, Qi (energy), "Object" and its relationship with qi, strength, and tao, and its part in martial arts practice. This book is the result of his years of scientific study and the Dr. gives a very easy to understand way to its practice. There are plenty of videos on youtube available, the 10 by Master Lam (above) being a very good introduction (and in english too!). This book will get you to quite a few levels beyond. I have been doing this as part of internal martial art training for quite some time and recently as a healthy exercise program. I recently went through a difficult year with some severe medical issues. Following the book, along with changes in diet and other exercises, I feel greatly contributes to my health both physically and mentally. Standing like a tree can be a very tough workout when taken to this level. Highly recommended.

"Second Order Kinetics" -- Superb description of the fundamental

Great book. Dr. Yu's book is one of the very few texts on Zhan Zhuang to describe the actual internal physical mechanics of the fundamental exercise that lies at the core of all the so-called internally-based arts. The book is well worth the effort, at least if that is your interest. Dr. Yu's description of that he calls "second order kinetics", although a small part of the book, is quite accessible, and simplified for me the fundamental concepts so as to significantly deepen my own practice, and gave me a way to teach this core material even to people who had virtually no exposure to the internal Chinese arts. My teacher in Hong Kong once described Zhan Zhang to me as "Outside calm; inside very busy". It took a decade fort me to figure out what that meant. Dr. Yu's description of simple exercises can allow one to feel that almost immediately. That said, there is a lot of material in the book (such as the lengthy descriptions of effect on heart rate) that, at least in my opinion, could have been shortened. The descriptions of various positions is ok, but can be found elsewhere as well. But, the description of "second order kinetics" was, for me, priceless. One further note... The translations into English and Spanish are, for the most part, quite good. What is a little odd, however, is that the translated books are not translations of the complete text, but rather are selections (albeit fairly extensive ones) from Dr. Yu's text (originally titled, somewhat cryptically, in Chinese, as "In Search of the Object"). Further, the selections in one language are not same as those in other languages, although there is substantial overlap. I suspect that this may be because the original text was not a fixed piece, but rather more a collection of writings, the selection of which perhaps changed over time.

Topnotch presentation

This is a clearly written and methodically- presented graduate - level presentation on Zhan Zhuang. In essence, it provides the understanding and instruction specifics to help the reader build a quality practice and continued advancement. I easily have highlighted about 1/3 of the book. I've been practicing Zhan Zhuang for about 10 years, and I've probably read the most focused books on the subject that have been written in English.
There's definitely novel material in this volume.

Hot, Dirty, Raw Quickies

HOLY CRAP! There is no denying it, you get exactly what it says on the cover when you pick up an Alexa Riley book. If you are a fan of quick, dirty reads that are full on hot scenes and over the top situations, then you can't go wrong with this boxset. Alexa Riley is without a doubt my fix for a smutty read.

I really must warn you, if you hav triggers then this is most likely not for you. The title doesn't just suggest about the content, it gives you fair warning.

I LOVED all 3 books in this boxset. Each one centred around the same theme but Alexa did an awesome job of getting each book to stand on it own with different storylines and not the same old, same old in all 3 books.

Without a doubt, the men in all 3 books are over the top and extreme in their actions. There is nothing subtle about them or their actions when claiming "their" woman.

The one thing that I can assure you without a doubt is that Alexa Riley can write a sex scene so hot that your panties will feel like they are melting off you and that you will either need relief or a cold shower to recover from the state that she worked you up into. These scenes are so detailed and hot that you don't even have to use your imagination. If your not a fan of full on, then don't even bother with these.

But even though these stories are short, Alexa pulls you in from the first word and doesn't release you until you have finished. Her writing is engaging, it's raw, it's completely and utterly dirty and while you know the content is something that shouldn't make you hot, you can't help but become inflamed.

What I do have to say is that each of these books comes with it's own little twist. But you have to read them to find out.

I recommend these books to anyone who is looking for something that does not require much power to process, wants a dirty quickie and is not bothered by the dubious consent as the main theme across these books. Just be prepared with a change of undies after.

Smoking hot bundle of erotic fantasies!!

Taking What's Mine-
This was definitely one of the best from the Forced Submission series!

Please know that neither I nor Alexa Riley endorse or excuse rape, by any means. Know that each book in this series may begin looking like it's rape, but they are NOT. In the case of this book, it's a forced submission fantasy being put into play. I hope that's not considered a spoiler, I just don't want anyone starting it then stopping because they think they're reading a story that promotes rape. Keep reading and give it a chance to explain itself.

Relax and let yourself be immersed in the fantasy of a hot cop pulling you over and making you enjoy some very naughty things. This book is just as hot as every other book by this author. I always enjoy her work!!
Taking What's Ours- A very hot menage story!! I admit to being slightly uncomfortable at the beginning, because it seemed to be more "forced" than I was okay with. But I knew Alexa wouldn't write a story like that so I hung in there and I'm glad I did! I knew there was more going on than we saw, but the twist at the end still shocked me! It wasn't what I expected at all.

Hudson and Ridge are in prison and make an elaborate escape plan that includes spending some intimate time with the prison doctor, named Charlotte. Although Charlotte was expressing that she didn't want it to happen, her body was reacting differently. You find out why later. Theres an HEA for the characters who actually turn out to be the good guys, not criminal rapists.

The menage scenes were smoking, and the story is short enough that it can be reread anytime you need a sexy little pick me up.

So what do you get when you have two slightly obsessive stalker-ish people stuck in the same room together? A scenario hot enough to catch my phone on fire, that's what!

Valentina may seem a little crazy at first, what with drugging Archer, tying him to a bed while he's out of it, and making plans to force him to impregnate her. But it all goes awry when Archer's own bit of crazy is revealed.

This is a short and steamy read well worth the time to check it out! We're all a little bit crazy and some of us may have considered acting out on it a time or two, we just don't have the nerve of ballsy Valentina!!

This bundle consists of the first three book in Alexa's Forced Submission series. Honestly, no one does erotica like Alexa Riley. Even though each book has the same premise they are all have a different story line and different characters. Just be warned, these books are taboo with a capital T. But that taboo is oh so good! Even if you've read all three books when they were published alone, you need to invest in this bundle because each book has a brand new epilogue. And boy are they good! Love you Alexa!

About the Author
Edgar Cayce grew up in poverty and achieved only an eighth-grade education. By the time he was a teenager he was able to memorize an entire book simply by placing it near his head when he slept. As an adult, Cayce discovered that while in a trance he could diagnose illnesses. His medical readings, which were years ahead of their time, have been proven to be 90 percent accurate. His abilities helped him become a world-renowned psychic.

Use as intended and see results

These two volumes in one are meant to be studied in a group environment. (For groups in your area, contact the Association for Research and Enlightenment, the Edgar Cayce Foundation at [...]) The groups usually meet once a week and discuss a chapter or part of a chapter. There are online groups as well.

I went to these meetings for close to ten years and it was a wonderful experience. I met some great people and we used the books as a foundation for spiritual growth in a unique fellowship. It is great as either an alternative or an adjuvant to church. For those who have issues with churches because of the inconsistencies and contradictions, this can be a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend it. You can also get a lot out of these books studying by yourself, but it's more fun with a group. It is great spiritual nourishment either way.

Our soul is a portion of the Divine

Books I and II--here combined in one volume--are based on so-called readings dictated by the sleeping prophet Edgar Cayce (EC) in weekly sessions witnessed by members of a study group from 1931 to 1942. This work may represent the gold standard, ten out of ten, of extrasensory prophetic wisdom revealed in the 20th century. Students of A Course in Miracles (ACIM) would probably contest that claim but although a son of Cayce (Hugh Lynn) had some interest in ACIM for a time, the theology of ACIM is radically different from that of the Cayce material. Most Christians whose theology is orthodox would--if they had an open mind and spirit--find that much of the Cayce readings in this book conform to traditional biblical doctrine and Christology. In contrast, very few Christians would be able to reconcile their beliefs with those presented in ACIM.

Christian apologists are virtually unanimous in their classification of the Cayce material as fraudulent, coming from a psychic deceiver or at best coming from a folksy down-home goodness-to-gracious man deceived by demonic spirits, the father of lies. Sceptics of the religious and/or the psychic are just as condemnatory. Reversely, Cayce apologists defend all the material and actvity purportedly associated with EC. The cures that didn't work, the prophecies that didn't come true, the questionable hucksterism pursued by EC's handlers and the later compromises by ARE of EC's doctrinal positions are by them glossed over, forgotten or rationalized. Enlightenment is not served by extremism.

The collection of EC readings should not be elevated to a level of divine infallibility. Nor should it be dismissed wholesale as either irrelevant opportunistic illusion or demonically induced deception. Unbiased research would establish that much good, inspirational and practical benefit has been the result of EC's legacy and very little harm has occurred. The ridiculing, the fear-mongering and derisive condemnations emanating from religious fanatics and materialistic sceptics have definitely not fostered social tolerance, brotherly love or peaceful coexistence, and never will. I am persuaded that the readings upon which this book is based are in accord with the highest of human and divine motives and ideals. This book could play a major role as a bridge for dialogue, tolerance and understanding between Christian fundamentalism and progressive universalist spirituality. Unfortunately, modern phariseeism continues to stand in the way.

A few excerpts are telling about its Christian wisdom: "Love is that inexplicable force which brought Jesus to earth so that through Him the way back to the Father might be made plain to the children of men." pp 124 "Seek God where he may be found, even in the heart of a neighbor. How well do we know God? Just as well as we seek to know and understand our fellow human beings, and just as well as we seek to magnify the divine consciousness in them." pp 68 "Truth may be proved only by results. If we would be led by the Spirit that leads into all truth, we may expect to have many opportunities for proof in our own life. We alone can judge as to that which is truth for ourselves." pp 183 "All power, all force is in Him, and is subject to His will. In Him is the light that we should seek, that we in body, mind, soul and purpose, may be one with Him. He is the Way!" pp 188 "The purpose for which our soul chose to come into this earth plane was to awaken the Divine within, which is done through manifesting the fruits of the spirit toward our fellow humans." pp 198 "Our soul is a portion of the Divine. It is a moving influence in our activities throughout our experiences in all spheres of consciousness. Our soul is a universe within self. Will is an attribute of the soul, and with it we choose to develop either to a oneness with Universal Consciousness or in opposition to It." pp 217-218 "Through the example set by the Christ, we know the way. The choice is made daily by each soul to follow the Light or seek selfish gratification." pp 251

I own almost all of Ragnar Bensons books, all of them are great.

Really didnt know what this book was gonna be about since it wasnt published by my favorite book people at Paladin Press and this will be the first review of this book at Amazon. If you've read Ragnar's Urban Survival you'll like this one also. Its a run down of what killed masses of people in the past and what we will most likely see in the future and what you need to know, what to do, and what to stock up on if want to make it.

Contagion..... just watched this movie last week. Being rightwing anti-government type of person that i am. Reading this book was better then the movie.
