Mi estación favorita del año no es precisamente el invierno, pero desde que lo viví en esta historia, ya le empecé a coger cariño. Esta novela ocurre durante la época más fría del año.Nunca me había parecido un invierno tan cálido desde que leí la novela de Isa Quintín. LA escritora logró imprimirle un ambiente tan delicioso que cambió mi perspectiva de esa estación del año. Es una historia linda, romántica. Un cuento de princesas en esta época moderna que me encantó. Detalles tan simples como el nombre de la protagonista me enamoró; además de su personalidad: una chica que no se dejó amilanar por el golpe duro que le dio la vida. Recomiendo el libro a todas las almas románticas que les gusta gozar de un cuento de amor. Felicitaciones a la escritora.

I loved it so hard it broke.

This book: It's AMAZING. It's BRILLIANT. It's HILARIOUS.

"High school is a test you are given before you are taught the answers. High school is a pottery class for blind club-fisted epileptics."

That's not just good writing, it's goddamn wisdom into the human soul. Her writing has the echoes of the best parts of Terry Pratchett.

This story has it all: memorable characters, insight into the human condition, an intriguing plot, and flying goddman sharks. Plus, it has unicorns. UNICORNS.

I loved it. I loved it so hard it broke.

Delightful alternate-Earth surrealism

In a savvy, comic narrative cadence, Williams weaves futuristic cartoon ickiness with the sort of existential insights only Doomsday tends to afford us fragile, faux- philanthropic human sorts.

I came for the vivid, meta-dystopian marketingscape shrouding its tenured, triangulating precogs; stayed for the charming, bent-sanity of its array of semi-human characters.

I only tend to venture from the non-fiction section for an exemplary specimen of the gift of a noggin vacation, and 'E Galactic Mu' is certainly just that: I laughed, I winced, and I highlighted many a terse and pensive bit of commentary on our role in this Multiverse, as we attempt to ooze toward a semblance of sorting it out.

Reading E Galactic Mu is like listening to an obscure band in a foreign language...you may not understand the words but the melodic rhythm sings in your heart and makes lovely sense. Sunday creates a world that is full of vivid characters and wild adventures. My brain soared to unknown destinations while reading this book and I enjoyed the depth of life's contemplations. This book rocks!

Catherine Ellis is a contributing producer with American RadioWorks, the documentary unit of American Public Media. She is founder of Audio Memoir, which chronicles personal stories for families and organizations. She lives in Boston, Massachusetts.

Have read many books on 9/11, and the oral history that will be preserved in this book, offers perspectives from people that I hadn't even considered before reading the book. I think this book is a "must read" to even begin to understand what people went through, and are still going through.

I am very biases as my mothers story is one that is in the book. However the reason that I love the book is because it talks about regular New Yorkers, those who were affected, but not directly. 20 great stories - my moms (who died before this book came out is story number 17)

This book, the result of interviews with many different types of New Yorker who were directly involved with the terrible day of 9/11, gives a most intense impression of what they experienced. It also covers the phsychological problems they later suffered, and raises the question as to whether the action the American government subsequently took was right. I personally found it most helpful to read it.

Avis Blackthorn is a good wizard — unlike his family, who are the most evil family in all of the Seven Magical Kingdoms.

He is in his second year at “Hailing Hall School for Wizards,”. Little does he know that this year will be as eventful and stressful as the first. Strange things are brewing… and Avis is determined to get to the bottom of it.

A good story, but lacks something from the first.

Yes! Much longer than the first book! Mr. Simmonds continues to write wonderfully and kept my attention over the period of 4 or 5 hours that it took me to read it. Avis is back at it, and this time with a few more twists and turns, he makes and loses friends(rather quickly, I might add). I both like and hate what he has done to a few of the main characters, especially Tina's family. I'll be back for the third installment, but it will be with some trepidation.

Pros:
Adds a depth to some of the characters who had been rather flat.
I didn't feel as lost in certain parts. It didn't feel rushed or like Mr. Simmonds had forgotten to include something.
The story again blew me out of the water at certain points. (I was sure a certain JG was definitely evil).

Cons:
Again, I don't like how all of Tina's family is turned into a sniveling mass of cowardice. (Especially Ernie).
Certain parts of the plot felt much more predictable this time.
Tina and JG's relationship feels forced. Especially for two thirteen-year-olds.

I would like to give this a score somewhere between 4 and 5, but closer to 4 this time around.

Good read.

So after reading the first one, I read the second. I like the characters. Good development and plot. Believe this would be a good read for any age. Some of the characters did seem a little weak compared to first book, hence the star rating but would definitely read more of this series if they came out.

Great Book!

This book kept me on the edge of my seat with the aspect of mystery and thrill! I have read the Harry Potter series 4 times and after reading this book and the first Avis Blackthorn book I am pleased to say this book was quite similar in many aspects but had a completely different and magical plot to it that I thoroughly enjoyed! I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a bit of magical reading!
